Friday was our last day in Nauvoo. We started out at the Red Brick store which is currently owned by the Community of Christ church. We enjoyed a nice cold root beer and some hard candy from there and sat outside and watched the river. We then walked over to the graves of Joseph and Emma and Hyrum.
We then went over to the brick store and listened to the demonstration and our family got our Nauvoo brick!
We then made our way over to the Pioneer games. Addie loved this little cabin. She sat in it the whole time we were there. Sadly we weren't there to long and the missionaries got a call to close it down. It was so hot and the heat index was around 110 degrees! It was such a hot day!
My cute Grandma playing with the teddy bears!
You can see how hot it was these boys are in the shade and not moving yet they are bright red!
These two cute girls loved trying on the pioneer clothes!
This is how these two are when they get together, glued to one another's side!
Addie loves horses so this fit her perfectly!
We went to the Visitors center after since it was so hot out and everyone watched a show the young missionaries were putting on. I opted to stay out since there wasn't much seating left and I couldn't take the stroller in. Addie was asleep at this point and I wanted her to get some sort of nap. I sat in the lobby on a couch and it was actually really nice and relaxing! She woke up a little while after because some lady was mad they gave her tickets up to the show she was 30 minutes late too! I wasn't very happy but she got up and played close by me until everyone came out! Andrew met someone my parents had met earlier in the day who is an optometrist in Manti. He was there for the next couple weeks to be in the pageant. He knows Andrew's boss really well and a few other friends in common. It was fun to talk to him. We then drove over and saw the Heber C Kimball home and then headed to dinner!
We had dinner reservations for 4:30 that afternoon at the Nauvoo buffet! It was a nice time because it wasn't to busy yet.
My mom bought all the kids these matching outfits and this was our attempt to get them all in a picture together!
Addie was being so sweet with Rachel!
We headed to the Country fair again for the last night. We were all a sweaty mess this night, it was still so hot!
The kids enjoyed sawing some wood!
Andrew and Spencer sawing!
We watched puppet shows and the kids played some more games while I got us snow cones to try and cool off!
It was so amazing to watch the pageant one last night and my mom was awesome and saved us seats on the second row! It was so different to see it up close and we are so glad we could see it like that! We once again finished with custard at Annie's again!
The next morning (Saturday) Andrew and I got up and left around 8. He had to be back to work by Monday morning. We drove all the way to Sydney, Nebraska that day. We luckily gained an hour so we got in about 8 and had some dinner then let the kids swim! They were in heaven and it helped them fall asleep a little faster. The next day we drove the rest of the way home. We pulled in about 7 pm. We would have been home almost 2 hours earlier but we got stuck in the worst construction traffic! We literally sat in one spot for over an hour! We were so happy to be home but we definitely missed the Spirit that surrounds Nauvoo!
