Rocks

We had a truckload of rocks delivered to our house one day! The kids were in heaven watching the dump truck!

Garden

Andrew was so excited to finally be able to plant a garden. We put it is the last part of May. We did Tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, Green and hot peppers, Cilantro, Chives, zucchini, yellow squash, watermelon, cantaloupe, big orange pumpkins and small ones, and big and little white pumpkins. We had a great harvest! It was fun to see what we like and what we want next year and don't want! The kids loved being able to go out all summer and pick fresh veggies and fresh veggies out of the garden are the best, there is nothing else like it!

Our first zucchini!!!

Ella in Arizona

Like I said Ella got to go to Arizona a few days before us with just my parents! She was in heaven! My mom said she was giddy! She chatted their ears off! My mom would send me pictures and she totally is in heaven!

They stopped in Panguitch for a picnic!

She was pretty excited to get her own bed at the hotel! My mom said she was just laughing!
I really missed Ella for those 2 or 3 days! She is my biggest helper!
She even got to eat at McDonalds!

Arizona/Funeral

Andrew's Step Dad passed away on June 16th. He passed early in the morning. We knew we had to figure out a way to get down there and so Andrew called and worked out his schedule with work and he finished off the work week and then we headed out of town. We had just Addie and Easton with us driving down. My parents decided to go down with us to the funeral but left a couple days before us so they could go see my brother and his family. We got to Gilbert and checked into our hotel. We got there on Father's Day and Andrew had been driving all day, it wasn't much of a great father's day but he did get to choose where to eat that night! He chose Joe's Farm grill one of his favorites in Gilbert! The kids were a little crazy at dinner but they had been in the car ALL day!

Monday was spent getting ready for the funeral and viewing. Addie got to pick oranges and Lemons with aunt Deb. Andrew got to go help dress Karl in his temple clothes so while he did that I went to see my friend Cara. I can't go to Gilbert and not see her! It was a great day of chatting and the kids playing!
Easton loves going to their house!
This is the picture for Karl's Obituary. I love it! He had cancer for over 13 years and fought a good fight!
These are all out of order but this was after the funeral. My cute sister in law drove 2 1/2 hours with all four of her kids to attend the funeral and to be there to support Andrew and his family.

Karl loved cars so his casket had all sorts of car decals and parts

Instead of a viewing Karl wanted a party of sorts. So that's what they did! They had a local mexican place cater and we had a big dinner and then some of his grandkids performed and each of his kids gave some memories of their dad. We had some great laughs and some tears. It was a great night despite the heat, it was like 110 or something hot like that!
Another out of order picture but this breakfast at the hotel was pretty good but after 4 or 5 mornings of it, I was sick of it!

We had a two hour drive to the graveside so we had a luncheon immediately following the funeral and then we headed out to the graveside so we could get there and get back before it was dark!

He was buried in a little town called Fort Thomas. There are only a handful of graves in this little cemetery but it sits atop a hill.

Andrew's mom saying her last goodbyes.

Our family literally melting! It was so hot and bright we couldn't take our sunglasses off for a picture!

Karl's kids
This was what my phone said at the buriel! Our car said I think 109 or 110! It was sooooo hot!
After the buriel it everyone was hungry so the ward in Fort Thomas put together a luncheon as well! Seriously the nicest people. They had sandwiches and chips and all sorts of cakes. It was nice to be able to eat again before having to drive two hours back!
After we got back I was able to go over and see Cara again! Her and some friends in the ward get together for Bachelor night! It was a nice break from such a hard day! They had great snacks and it was pretty fun to see how they do their bachelor ballots! I stayed and chatted with Cara for to long and didn't get back to the hotel until 1! It was well worth it!

We had to leave the next day so that Andrew could be home for work on Thursday afternoon! It is hard to not have vacation pay so when it comes unplanned to take time off it makes it hard but we feel we were blessed to be able to go. We drove that day to St George and stayed the night. We got in at about 10 and the pool was open so we all jumped in and it felt so good! They even upgraded our room to their big suite that night which was perfect! We got a good nights rest and drove the rest of the way home! Andrew was only 20 minutes late for work, luckily he didn't have a patient waiting!
