Easter

This year we had a great Easter. We started the day off at church. I had to give a sharing time lesson and so we did an activity and read scriptures about the Resurrection. It was really nice throughout the week to plan it out and to remember the true meaning of the holiday. It went over really well in our Senior Primary but not so well in Jr. Sunday night we were able to have a couple of friends over for dinner. We enjoyed eating, talking, and enjoying the nice weather outside!

I had my friend Brittany take a family picture for us. Later I realized after the kids were already in bed that this was the only picture we got of Easton on his first Easter. Oh well! They both have such blue eyes! I want to get family pictures done in a few weeks and maybe some of each of the kids, I can't decide if we should wear these clothes for that or if the kids should for theirs. I need opinions please!

Ella has loved this step on our back porch this week. Every time we go outside she always gravitates back to it!

She is growing up to fast, nursery in only a few weeks!

The husbands were outside and I didn't even notice them come in and get the camera but they took all these pictures of the kids! We didn't even have to ask or nag!

Ella was the token girl!

Brigham, Jefferson, Jackson, Logan, and Ella

It is an older brothers job to get the younger one to look at the camera!

We had such a great day! It was nice to have friends over to share it with, it makes holidays easier when we are all so far away from our families! Thanks Heiners and Zollingers!

After the rain comes the Sun...

I forgot some of our pictures from when we sat and played in the hall so here they are!

Easton was luckily happy for most of the time we sat and played in the hall!

Ella thought during tornado warnings and sirens going off that finally learning to conquer her fear of our stairs. She thought it would be a good idea to do it right at that moment! She went up a million times and luckily learned to go down the right way! Her new favorite thing to do!

The last two days after the rain have been gorgeous! We played outside for almost half the day yesterday. We walked up and down our driveway and sidewalk at least a hundred times! She loves to push her baby and stroller around while I push my baby and stroller around!

She was running away from me!

Easton says only real men wear pink sunglasses!

Boo!

While playing in our backyard this last week we noticed a birds nest and the birds had just recently hatched! Andrew was taking pictures last night of it and the mom came back to the nest and was feeding the little birds!

We love Saturday mornings! Ella loves Easton! Poor kid she is rough on him!

Easton has discovered tummy sleeping this week! He loves it! His naps have been longer because of it! Hallelujah!

Real men can also use pink blankets from their sisters!

We have been putting him in Ella's crib for nap time. The better bed plus sleeping on his stomach has made him so happy! I love the drool all over the bed. I thought Ella drooled a lot but this kid wins the prize! We will have to buy a different color sheet when we move him into the crib!

Oh what to you do in the Springtime.....

This is what happens between our neighbors house and ours! I am glad I don't own this house we live in, I cannot imagine the issues it has! This is only after about an hour of rain the other day! We receieved well over a foot of rain in three days here! The rain was almost up to the windows, which are only about a foot off the ground!

We have had such an eventful week! We had some storms that made me glad we won't live here forever! On Monday, Tuesday, and part of the day Wednesday it rained, thundered, lightening, and wind blew! We had numerous tornado warnings, watches, and the sirens went off like crazy. Tuesday night they went off from 7 til who knows when, we went to bed at 11 and they were still going off! If Ella was up and they were going off she would just cry they scared her so bad! So on Monday we spent a good part of the early afternoon in our hallway and bathroom so she couldn't hear them! To pass time we curled her hair! The back is already naturally curly but the top isn't as much yet! She was happy to sit and let me do it as long as I was close and she couldn't hear the sirens!

She left them in for about 30 min and then wanted them out!

It fell out pretty quick once she had a nap!

She was mad I wouldn't let her have the camera!

A girl in our ward took this picture. It is at the apartment complex where we used to live, which is about a mile from where we are now! This was on the news!

She has developed an obsession with our laptop bag! She carries it around with her all day and at the end of the day we find random things, last night we found Easton's burp cloth I turned the house over trying to find all day!

Of course the second I decide to get ready Easton wakes up, happens everyday I swear so I brought both of them into my room with me. Ella has another obsession and that is our bedroom, she loves it and we can't go in there without her running after us. She loves my makeup bag as well and it keeps her occupied usually the whole time while I get ready! This day she learned how to get the mascara open but luckily only got it in her hair and so now she can't play with it anymore!

She has taken a liking to my shoes and tried to wear them all day long!

Since we were pretty much confined to our home for a better part of the week we baked a lot! I made these cupcakes from a recipe I got at a Relief Soceity thing. They were so good! The frosting alone I could have eaten by itself. It had cream cheese, butter, melted white chocolate chips, vanilla, raspberry extract, and powdered sugar! Ella decided that was the best part and ate most the frosting first!

Lovely I know, Andrew told me I had to post it!

Emily comes to Town!!!

Last year after I had Easton I was having a hard time, I was home sick. Emily mentioned maybe she would come during her Spring Break if it didn't cost to much. Well when we heard in January that tickets were only $150 she bought one! Last week she came and we had a lot of fun. We were way laid back the whole week but we still had fun. It amazes my mom how well we get along since we have gotten older. We used to fight like no other but we actually like each other now. She was nice and watched our kids one night while Andrew and I went to the temple! Then she got to witness a true southern storm with thunder, lightening, and tornado sirens! We were sad to see her go! I always get homesick for a few days after family leave or we leave family!

One day we went to the Mud Island River walk - a to scale model of the Mississippi River from top to the Gulf of Mexico. It is a fun free activity! It runs along the river itself!

Downtown Memphis Skyline in the background.

Ella learned how to feed herself her yogurt!

Andrew ended up having Wednesday and Thursday off of school because the storm on Tuesday night knocked out the power at his school and it took two days to get it back on! It was fun to have him around with us!

Emily loves fried chicken and we had heard great things about a local fried chicken place! We watched man vs food and saw it on there! So I thought it would be a good place to go while she was here! It was so good! Andrew is still talking about it! While there we also got to witness Grand Theft Auto going on across the street! Gotta love downtown Memphis!

She was nice to come with me grocery shopping. It is easier with two adults! Easton loves this duck as much as Ella did and everytime he falls asleep he holds onto the red ring on it! It is so sweet!

One day we took her to the zoo! It is nice having a pass to go whenever we want and it includes another person for free! Of course I always choose the worst days to go to the zoo! The kids here were out of school for Good Friday so the zoo was crazy, I have seen worse though!

After we left Ella with Emily while we were at the temple she really didn't want anything to do with her the rest of the week, I guess she thought we were going to leave her again, who knows!

I think she really likes the Elephants she stood and watched them for close to ten minutes!

Easton was just happy to be drug along once again!

It was such a fun week and I know Emily took a lot more pictures that I forgot to get from her! We love when people come to see us!
