Zoo

Last Thursday we headed to the zoo, it was 79 degrees that day! It was so warm! Our pass is expiring in a couple weeks and sadly we aren't renewing it because we are moving in two months. We have really enjoyed the Memphis Zoo and feel like we have gotten more than our money's worth out of it. It has been a great outlet for us and it is just down the street from Andrew's school so we have been able to meet him there lots of times! We'll see how many more times we can get there in the next couple weeks to enjoy it some more!

Ella specifically asked to see the "graphs" when we got there, so we headed there first. She remembered that there was a baby one on our way in and kept asking to see the baby and mommy and daddy. Luckily the baby one was out and was the closest one to us, she was thrilled!

Next we saw the elephants, one is pregnant and is expected to be born in August so when we come back this fall maybe we will have to go and see it, Ella would love that!We stopped and had a little snack/picnic we had packed and just enjoyed being able to be outside! Poor Easton was so hot, he was sweating, they told us the temperature was going to be 10 degrees lower than it was that day so we prepared for it to be a little cool and it was the opposite!The last thing we saw was the Sea Lion show. We were heading out just as it was about to start so we decided to stay and watch it. It is always fun to see and it had been a while since we had seen it, Ella liked it a lot more this time! By the time it was over they were ready to go, we had been there over 2 hrs and they were both overdue for naps so we headed home! We were really glad we went because it was cold and windy the next day!

Ella ate the entire container of Goldfish during the show! She did give Easton a few after I told her to share.

Happy National Pancake Day!

Tonight we celebrated National Pancake Day. Our kids LOVE pancakes so any excuse to make something they will eat we will take. Nothing tastes better than homemade buttermilk pancakes, with buttermilk syrup! They were tasty!

Ella was in heaven and ate almost 3! Along with scrambled eggs and bacon, she was eating like we hadn't fed her in weeks!

Easton ate almost two, then again Easton could eat at least 6 meals a day and still not be satisfied! While we cleaned up dinner they discovered the toilet and tub are a good place to play the drums they were having a blast, fine with us as long as Ella isn't trying to smother East.

Shower

Andrew has been turning on the shower while the kids are in the bath. Surprisingly Ella loves it, maybe we will be able to get within 10 feet of a pool this summer! Easton loves it as always he just goes with the flow!

RV Show

We live about a block away from an RV sales center. We drive by these every single day! Last year they had a month long RV show and we never made it so I promised Andrew we would go this year. Last weekend after dinner we drove over to see it. It is free to get in with a donation to the Children's Hospital here. We were the only the ones there and there was about 10 salesman. Luckily they left us alone. We went into most of them they had there. Some of them were really nice and a lot of money. This one we are standing in front of even had heated tile in it. Andrew really wants to get something someday, something small is what I say. At the end a sales guy tried to sell us a small trailer, he kept saying it's only $120 a month. I finally told him our little honda accord probably wouldn't be able to pull it so he dropped it, plus $120 a month is a lot of money these days! It was fun to go and see! Ella loved climbing in and out of them "by myself."

We were thinking wow, what a steal! Ella loved to drive, she kept calling them buses! Right after this our camera died so we couldn't get any more pictures.

Climber

Easton is turning into a climber. Ella never really dared do anything he does already. I was going through all there bins of clothes from when they were born until now and so they were all over the living room when they got up from their naps. Easton took it as an opportunity to climb on top of them all. He is getting more daring by the day! This week he decided that the stairs were a great place to play. He goes to the top and then whines because he doesn't know how to get down, it makes me nervous!

Drum

A couple weeks ago we found this little drum set at Target it was a whole 30 cents. I am mad at myself now for not buying two and sparing ourselves the fight. They both love it and so we have to share which is fine because we are trying to learn how to share!

Dirty

I am not a fan of dirt. I hate when my kids have dirty faces or noses or hands. With Ella we had a hard time letting her get down and dirty eating her food and learning how to feed herself. Now with Easton we figure it is just going to happen and he needs to learn so we let him at it when it is something he can easily pick up and eat. I finally decided to let him just eat his sandwich instead of handing him each piece it made him quite messy and I was finding jam in weird places the rest of the day, like behind his ear. Please ignore the fact that he is using a pink princess cup. We had one blue cup and we think he threw it away in the garbage so he is stuck with pink and princesses for now.

Ella gets jealous if you take Easton's picture and not hers so here she is, she is getting better at eating all the time hardly any on her face!The same day after naps we went on a walk and to the park in our neighborhood with our friends. Easton has become quite the climber in the last week or so and was so excited to climb all over the playground. It had rained a few days before and it was still super muddy, one thing I am not a fan of here it takes FOREVER for things to dry up and a lot of times they never do. Well Easton got really adventurous and I looked over and he was headed head first down the largest tube slide there. Luckily I made it in time to catch him. He loved it he went right back up but he just sat there for about 5 min I turned my back for a second and he ended up going down and landed on his back on the ground in the mud. He was pretty sad after that plus a little cold and was so muddy. It was in his hair matted down! I wasn't to thrilled to put him in my stroller like that but I didn't know how else to get him home without getting myself all dirty. He was fine when we got home and threw him in the bath, the dirt in his hair was hard to get out and his bath water was gross. I don't know if I am ready for all things boy!

I love this he was so excited to see the plane going over, he loves to point!

Valentines Day

This year Valentines was a lot of fun. Even though our kids don't quite understand it yet it was still fun to do some things with and for them.

The first thing we did was the night before we heart attacked their doors.

When I went in to get Ella she was so excited saying hearts mom and the ABC's. She is obsessed with both hearts and singing the ABC's right now so it was good timing!Then we made a candy trail for them to follow with a little gift at the end.
Lucky for me I found in my stash of stuff to give the kids eventually I found two books (thank you to our favorite store, Gordmans!). One was about planes and the other had nursery rhymes. Ella's had twinkle, twinkle little star on the front which is her other current favorite to sing (I posted a video on the next post with her singing it). She also really loves planes, can't imagine why they fly over our house all day long and she has been on more planes in her life than most adults!

Even Andrew was able to get into the celebrating with us before he left for the day. Let's just say that I am never awake or at least out of bed before he leaves everyday so I mentally prepared myself to get up when he did to make him breakfast. I got up once he was in the shower and had it all almost made by the time he came out of the bedroom. It was nice to be up that early I got a lot more done that day! We made heart shaped pancakes, buttermilk syrup, bacon, and some pink strawberry milk that was way to sweet for us next year we will just dye our normal milk!Andrew dipped apples and marshmallows for me. They were really good and done perfectly. He tried finding strawberries the night before to dip and after 3 stores that were sold out, he gave up!Ella and Easton's heart pancakes turned out so much better looking, I guess I was more awake when I made theirs. For lunch we had heart shaped Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Ella has struggled recently with PB&J's, I think she was sick of them but she devoured this one, I guess I should just make her food heart shaped and she'll eat it!We kept with our tradition from last year and drove up to Memphis to Andrew's school to heart attack his truck. Our luck was he had parked in the first year students lot so after driving around for a few minutes we found it. Luckily we didn't see Andrew I guess he went on his lunch about 5 min after we left! The kids thought it was great they got to play in the back of the truck.

They have a security guard that watches the parking lot and he came over when he saw me and asked if I went to school there. He then proceeded to tell me how early he had gotten up to go get some roses for his wife and a stack of cash for her, he was pretty proud of himself!Easton was trying to get away he knew it was time to go and didn't want to get out. He had a huge fit once I finally caught him and put him in the car!It was a great day! We were going to finish it off with a heart shaped pizza but by the time Andrew got home from school it was so late and we were all tired and hungry that we just made it a normal round one!
