We debated a lot over weather or not we would put up our Christmas decorations but decided we owed it to the kids, we never really have done this with them so we felt we needed to. Plus we want it to feel like Christmas for a few days anyway! We decided for Family night last Monday to set it all up. We got a late start since Andrew got home a little later than planned. They were all sorts of excited when we pulled it all out. They wanted to help so much and they were great helpers! We turned on some Christmas Music and got right to work!
They helped him first put it together and fluff it a little
They were clapping and pretty excited when they got the first piece on!
They then proceeded to follow Andrew in a circle around the tree while he put all the lights on it. It was pretty cute to watch!
We let them put all the ornaments on. We had to start lifting them to put them up higher since all were starting to weigh down the bottom branches! We only put on a few since it has to be taken down really soon!
A Christmas song came on that they recognized and they started dancing. Easton's dancing is the cutest thing I've ever seen!
Here Easton is saying Ta da! We looked at our tree this year and were a little humbled it is kind of a sad tree, it is really small and lacks in many ways but it is what we have and all we can afford at this point and so we love it!
We finished with a family night treat of Candy Cane Oreos! It is a good thing they sell out fast and don't have them year round or I would be in trouble!
We taught East the true way to eat an Oreo he loved dunking it!
He was a mess by the end!
It has been fun to have the tree up and the kids love to fight over who gets to turn it on and the night light next to it. The next morning as I was getting out of the shower Easton brought me a strand of beads and I went out to find our new ornament for the year we bought at Disneyland this summer broken, he knocked Goofy off but Andrew super glued it back on and you can't even tell! He learned his lesson though and hasn't touched the tree since!
