Fun Day

Last week after the Library we went home and had some lunch and then headed out. Andrew had the day off. I needed to head up to the mall to find something that my mom had called and asked me to go find. We decided to walk around the mall for a little while as well. Ella saw the Merry go Round and was jumping up and down so we decided to let her try and go again. The second I got on there with her she freaked out. After a few times around she warmed up to it and started to enjoy it more. By the time we got off she was loving it and ran out to tell Andrew all about it. She kept telling him she got to ride on the giraffe and how fun it was.

After we left the mall we weren't ready to go home so we decided to stop at Shelby Farms. It is a huge park with trails, playgrounds, buffalo, horses, lakes, and so on. They have built a new playground that is really fun. It was a bit crowded but we still had fun. They have these huge slides and Ella went down them a hundred times. Easton went down a few times but wasn't a huge fan, I think they were a little too big for him.
Easton was more interested in the sticks and rocks at the bottom of the slides more than the slides themselves.
Easton loved the swings but he sun was in his eyes and Ella as usual still hates swings, she was literally shaking she hated it!He couldn't open his eyes it was too bright! She decided she liked to swing only if it was on my lap. She gave me quite the workout we swung for a long time!We went down the slides a few more times before we left. I decided to take Easton down the biggest one with me. It was actually quite terrifying I was going really fast and was afraid I was going to knock the girl at the bottom over, luckily she moved just in time!

On our way out we stopped by the stables to pet the horses. Ella was so excited and then they got closer and she got really scared. We stopped at the grocery store on our way out of the park and got some water and a snack and then started for home. It wasn't two minutes and they were both asleep. Ella fought for a good ten minutes to keep her hands up like this while she slept.
It was a great day! We had a lot of fun and wore them out!

Storytime

Ella and Easton both love to go to the library and look at the books. We have been trying to get to story time every week but it is hard a lot of times. Last week we finally were able to make it again after a few weeks of missing it. They read stories about Easter this week. Then we did a craft. They made bunny masks. They got to color them and then I helped them glue on cotton foo the nose and mouth. Ella loved it and Easton was just happy to be given a crayon since we usually take them away from him (he still thinks they are something to eat!)
They had a lot of fun and then we got to look at books and sit at the fun small tables. Ella wasn't happy to leave without being able to take books home but I decided we can't have library books in our house while we try and pack and move because I don't want to lose any!

Park Day

Once a week our Mother's Group has a park day. I don't think I have ever taken pictures. Well last week Ella and Easton were having so much fun. It took Ella a long time to warm up to the park, like months. We would go every week and she finally has grown to love it! We love going to the park and Ella always tells me to go that way to the park when we leave our street in the car (the park is the opposite way that we usually go!)
He looks so grown up!Easton has an issue with slides. He climbs to the top but won't sit down and go down. I usually have to go and sit him down and then he goes down just fine by himself. It is like he forgets how to sit!
Ella also has started playing with the other kids better. She would just usually do her own thing but she is now following and playing with the other kids!

Hurt Again.....

Poor Easton can't keep himself out of trouble. His bruise on his forehead pretty much cleared up so he found a new way to mark himself up. He has this dump truck and the back slips very easily and it got out from under him and knocked him flat on his back but no before hitting him. He gave himself quite the fat lip and scrap. It also sliced his gum above his front teeth. Lots of blood and hugs later he was fine and back with the truck pushing it around but being a lot more careful. He was pushing it so slow and it got out from under him again and gave him a little bruise on the side of his head. It made him really upset and he was really calm the rest of the day and cuddly!

This has nothing to do with it but Andrew found this pretty funny. I decided to lay down and they thought it was the perfect opportunity to sit on me. Ella had my feet buried with books, she covered my legs with their blankets, and they both thought they needed to be up there with me standing up and stepping all over me, which was not all that comfortable!

Shake a Leg

About a year ago we posted the same video of Ella doing this same book. They both love it and Easton carries it around with him all day. He seems so grown up anymore and it makes me sad, he is supposed to be a baby for a long time!

Outside Fun!!!

We have been spending a lot of our afternoons after our naps outside playing! They are loving the water table and just being able to be outside! Easton could live outside, he gets so upset when we bring him in. He could be out there for hours and still get upset when we brought him in. They have been playing well together with the occasional toy stealing from Ella. They both love to throw water on each others heads and splash and laugh!
They both love to push this little trike around but both refuse to sit on it and take a ride. I got the trike about a year ago at Goodwill for $7! It was practically new just had a little dirt in the back and a few cob webs, hopefully they catch on to how you are supposed to use it!Nap hair!I think I remember there was an airplane going over that Easton was trying to see!I love this picture, he is so cheesy! Love the big bruise! This picture is so Ella she can be so mysterious!Ella thought the water was good and kept trying to drink it with the shovel. She would fill the bucket get back on the chair and I would take it and dump it and she finally learned that I wasn't going to let her drink it so she stopped!
I think he was cold!

Bruise

Poor Easton tripped over our rug the other day and knocked his head on the door frame. It literally bruise and made a goose egg within a minute. Poor kid wasn't sad for too long and got right down and started playing right away. He hit his head about two seconds before we were going to put him down for his nap so lucky him he got to stay up for a while longer to make sure he was OK.
This was less than a minute after he fell, luckily it looked worse for a few hours and now it doesn't look as bad.
Ella later retold the whole story to me she went and stood and pointed to the wall and told me all about how Easton hit his head and he was really sad. That night he was running to get to the bath because the second he hears the word bath he bolts so he was running and tripped over his shoe that was on his foot and hit his head on something he was carrying leaving a bruise to the right (his left) of his first one. I took him with me to the store the next day and people were giving me the your child looks like he got beat up look. Luckily it is starting to look better slowly but surely.

Car Wash

Last Monday Andrew wanted to wash our car and the kids had just woke up from their naps and love to go outside. Easton literally squeals when told we are going outside. I thought it was the perfect opportunity for them to get some outside time with Dad so I could fix dinner. I went out in the middle to take some pictures. Eventually the water table came out and the kids both ended up soaking wet but they had so much fun. They were really hard to get to come into the house for dinner. Easton threw the biggest fit to date. I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time outdoors this summer!
We have come a long way since last summer with Ella. The sight of the hose freaked her out and now she runs right up and wants to be sprayed with it. They were great "helpers"

I have a feeling there are lots of car washes in our future summer plans because Ella brings it up a few times a day about how she got to help dad wash the car outside! They just loved all the bubbles and I am pretty sure Easton ingested a few!
We figured they were already soaked so might as well fill the water table!

Pretty sure Easton drank half the water in the table.

Books

It is no surprise to anybody that knows little Ella that she loves books. This girl would pick books over anything (including TV). I have had to go into her room during nap time the last few weeks to make her put the books away. Usually she will eventually fall asleep but sometimes I have to help her put them away so she can get a little nap in. I went in the other day and she had books laying on her, under her, and all around her. She makes me laugh how much "stuff" she can get in her bed and still sleep in it!
