Halloween Story Time

On Halloween we ventured to Storytime. They were doing some fun stories. They made pumpkin soup and then "cooked" it and it turned into Orange Sherbet. We skipped that part and went and read books instead. The ice cream didn't look very good, it was like half melted and all 50 kids there ran up and started breathing on it so we opted to not get messy or germs and just left to read books.

Easton cares about 50% of the time about the books and the other 50% about the fun toys they have, this day was a toy day!

Trick or Treat

Andrew took the kids out in our neighborhood for about 30 min. They came back and were really cold, I wasn't thinking when they left I guess they could have used jackets. I was disappointed in their selection, why can't anyone buy decent Halloween candy anymore, all they got were mini tootsie rolls, dum dums, and smarties, not a single chocolate bar. Oh well, they didn't really care and it they ate to much it took them a good 2 hrs to fall asleep that night!

Pumpkin Carving

The night before Halloween we carved pumpkins. The kids loved touching the insides. Easton could have played with it all night. They choose which shapes they wanted the eyes, nose, and mouth and Dad was nice to oblige. After they went to bed we did another one from one of those patterns but didn't take a picture.

Halloween at SCO

Two days before Halloween the Clinic at Andrew's school did their annual Halloween events. Ella was excited to see Cinderella again but she didn't come, even after they said she was coming. This year was really disappointing and most of the suites were out of stuff by the time we got there. Andrew was luckily able to get out of seeing his last patient and was able to escort us around. It was fun to see which parts of the clinic he is in on certain days of the week. Ella was so excited she got to go inside Dad's school, usually we just sit in the parking lot and wait for him.



Sad to say they loved the Elevator ride up and down the most!

Destruction

Easton has turned into a little boy. Climbing on everything, knocking things over, throwing things, etc. He is really giving me a run for my money. Some days I just don't know what to do with him. Right now it seems to be worse I don't know what it is, that he can sense change is coming again or his 2 year molars, probably both! His favorite thing to do is knock over the Cozy Coupe and then climb in it with all his "stuff" he is carrying around that day! He thinks he is funny and has started just doing it to get a rise out of us. The car has now been put away because between that and him and Ella fighting over it we might not see it again until it shows up in Utah, I should have just bought a second one like my mom suggested!

Side note: since putting it away his new thing to knock over and climb on is the banana chair!

Ward Halloween Party

Last Saturday was our Ward Halloween Party. We usually do a trunk-or-treat but decided to do it indoors this year. It worked really well because it ended up being so cold, like Utah Halloween cold. We kept commenting all week how we are usually sweating at the ward trunk or treat.

 

Easton was a pirate this year and Ella was a witch. She kept telling me she was a nice witch!

We had some chili and cornbread for dinner and then did some fun games and cookie walk!

Then we walked around the inside of the building where people had decorated doorways to hand out treats! After door one the kids understood and loved it! After they got their treats we went and did a maze our Bishop had put together. He had put together a bunch of boxes. We had to army crawl through this maze with dead ends in the dark. I never thought of myself as being claustrophobic but now I know I am! I had to stop midway through and talk myself into finishing it. I quickly went one way and then another and made it out! I don't know if I would ever do that again, but it was fun and our Bishop put a lot of work into it!

Priddy Farms

Early in September when I bought our Corn Maze groupon the next day a groupon came up for this place. It was such great offer we couldn't pass it up. It came with Family hay ride, kid train ride 2 small pumpkins, 2 baby pumpkins, a scarecrow, and so on. We finally had a free Saturday morning and so last Saturday we headed up there. It was a little further than I thought but it was an area we hadn't been to yet and it was beautiful. It is just a family run business in their backyard basically. When we first got there the kids first rode the train. Ella at first thought we were trying to torture her but after some reassurance and her noticing Easton was fine she calmed down. In the end they loved the train and it has been Ella's main thought all week about how fun the train was.

After we rode the hay ride out to their pumpkin patch. Well their patch this year was nothing but pumpkins thrown on the ground. The guy driving the hay ride said that because it had been so dry their pumpkins didn't grow and so they had to buy them from another place in Tennessee this year. There were some people on the ride that said every year they come and this was a first, they said the owner usually walks around and personally cuts the steams off each pumpkin with you. I was bummed! 

It was pretty chilly that morning and Easton discovered pockets and as a result was a slow walker! He was so cute walking around like this!

They had all sorts of slides, swings, play sets, outdoor toys, sandboxes, etc. The kids were in heaven! I think we got our $10 worth!

Ella couldn't decide on a baby pumpkin and went to work trying to organize them and line them up!

She finally chose the perfect one! She carried it and held it all the way home!

I guess when we walked up she noticed the face painting. She loved having it done the week before. She out of no where says she wants to get her face painted and she wants a flower. We figured it was only $1 so she went running over and hopped up in their chair. She asked for a yellow flower! She sat so still!

She was in heaven! I just love this picture of her! She is so grown up lately!

They had all sorts of wagons to pull around, Easton was in heaven!

It was such a fun day and nice to spend some time as a family! We ended our morning by stopping at Wendys for lunch and the mall!

Crepe

So we have only been to one of our four favorite eating places and it was nearing the end of October so last Friday for date night we went to get our second one. This time it was my choice (Andrew chose Corkys in Sept.) I chose Crepe Maker. It worked out because we had a buy one get one free coupon so we each ordered a combo meal which came with a small entree and small dessert crepe. It makes it more worth it with a coupon. I had been looking forward to my crepe all month and was excited to not have to cook dinner!

 

The kids were lucky and got a PB and honey Sandwich brought from home with a Capri sun!

I got the Raspberry Chicken for my entree and The Frankie for my dessert (nutella, PB cups, cinnamon, and bananas!)

Andrew got the Philly Cheese steak and The To Die For for dessert (Nutella, Strawberries, Bananas, and a piece of cheesecake inside!)

It was such a fun night and we will definitely miss this place when we leave, although I really don't go there much!
