Moab and Capital Reef

So in January some friends of ours and us decided to plan a weekend getaway with each other! We decided Memorial Weekend would be best for us all! We looked around and found a house for us to stay in . We each payed less than 150 dollars for the weekend for the house! We looked forward to it for months! We were so happy when the time finally came!
We left a little later than we had wanted because Andrew ended up having some patients at his office that morning and when you are new in town you take anyone when they want to come! So we were a little behind our friends so we played at the park along the Colorado river in Moab while they finished their hike!

We walked across the bridge over the Colorado River. It was super windy! It was fun to see all the river rafters!
Windy!

Someone was so nice and offered to take our picture! I think this is a first family picture with Holland!
Our friends came back and we went and checked into the house did rock paper scissors for rooms which was hilarious and then emptied our cars. Our friends Jamie and Mark came later that night. Her Grandma had died earlier that week and they had the funeral earlier that day and they were so exhausted when they finally pulled into Moab at midnight that night! We were happy they had made it safely!
We went to dinner and boy did we get looks! Six adults and 13 kids! People were actually kind of rude to us! We had multiple parties asked to be reseated after being stuck next to us!  The kids actually did really good and we were proud! My friends husband actually told the hostess that these were all his wives! It was pretty funny!
We put the kids all at one table! They did so much better that way! It was nice!
We are the only ones in our party not driving a Pilot! It was funny to see them lined up waiting for us to fill our car!
Our first hike the first day was to delicate arch. The kids were amazing! I didn't think they had it in them but they did great!

This sign was funny, in the summer there is no shade and the next line if you get lost find shade. Hmmmmmm.........
Getting 24 people going is a lot of work!

It was so windy when we reached the arch! We were literally holding onto every kid and everything we had!

Holland did so good in my wrap! She slept the whole way up and back and my friend Tami and I nursed our babies on the way back! It was really a lot better than I could have imagined!

The next day we went to Goblin Valley! The kids had fun playing around on a big rock playground and we had a picnic after!
I have the most amazing friends! Jamie, Tami, and Lindsay!
Our kids got a long so well together the whole weekend!

That night we drove to Capital reef and stayed in a hotel! The kids loved swimming and we had a birthday party for Haisley since it was her birthday!
Not very many more times will a hotel room with only two beds work!
We hiked around Capital Reef the next day! The kids waded in the water!

This was when we were half way up to the arch!

Easton was two days from getting his cast off and all the kids were swimming so we let him get in! He was in heaven! He lives for the water!
I love this shot!

We had the pool to ourselves but if you came in and saw 16 kids swimming you'd probably want to turn around and leave!

  1. Our whole group before we had one more picnic and headed home! This weekend was one for the books! We had no problems and we made so many memories! I want to focus on memories more than stuff! It was so fun and we are so blessed to have these amazing friends in our lives! We can't wait to plan our next adventure with them next year!

Love these girls!!
