Swimming

We have loved having a neighborhood pool! When we bought this place almost 6 years ago we never thought it would ever happen after the builder went under shortly after we moved in. It only took about 4 1/2 years later but we finally got what we were promised! We have been so much this summer and it is nice to walk a block and enjoy it! The kids have really loved it and I really need to get them into some swim lessons. Easton is a little dare devil and honestly scares me to death most of the time. Ella is a little reserved but is slowly getting used to it. There is a nice kids pool that only goes up to 4 feet but has a nice 1 to 2 feet area for them to play. There is another pool for "big" people as Ella says and a hot tub the kids would love to spend half the time in, it is way to hot for that! We have enjoyed having people over to swim with us and anyone is welcome to come!

Easton loves to jump in and we usually have to hurry or he will jump in without us!

Pedicures

So to continue my mom's birthday celebrations the day before the 4th the girls went and got pedicures. We were sad my little sister Sarah didn't come but she was nice enough to watch the kids for us! It had been a few years since I had been and my feet were in horrible shape so they did their deluxe treatment on me and it was worth every penny! My feet felt so much better and still do! It was such a fun treat!

Since it was the 4th the next day I got red with blue and white polka dots, and white with blue and red dots! My sisters did stars and stripes and my mom got pink with yellow flowers!
This lotion felt so good and then she came and wrapped my legs in hot towels and it was amazing! It was fun and we keep talking about going back again!

Mom's birthday

For my mom's birthday we decided to celebrate for a few days! Her birthday was on a Sunday and so we made her dinner for her. We made some yummy grilled stuffed zucchini, had some delicious watermelon, green salad, and so on! It was really good. My Grandma made her a homemade German Chocolate cake. It was a perfect day and we enjoyed spoiling her! The next day, Monday morning we went over to my mom's house for brunch. We made sausage, french toast, buttermilk syrup, eggs, and juice. It was all so amazing and we were full the rest of the day! It was fun to continue our celebrations!
This is the one picture I got from the two days, the kids watched Daniel Tiger while we made breakfast!

Taylorsville Dayzz

We enjoyed being able to go to Taylorsville Dayzz again this year! It was the last week of June and we weren't sure if we wanted to go. It had been about 105 degrees all week and just miserable to be outside. We went the first night but we were only there for about 30 minutes before the fireworks. We had my sister in law Becky's Mother in law and sister in law in town from Korea and her niece and nephew. The kids had a lot of fun together and even though there was a language barrier they played really well and had fun!

Apparently it was dark and I had no idea my lense wasn't open the whole way!

Uncle Daniel bought all the kids all glow necklaces! It was so hot so of course we had to get our traditional snow cones! It really did help to cool us down!
The second night we went a couple hours before fireworks and enjoyed the concert and of course snow cones once again!
Just in case it wasn't hot enough they thought they would climb all over Andrew!
It was really fun to go both nights and the firework shows were amazing! It was a lot of fun and I was able to see a few friends from high school I hadn't seen in a few years since moving!

Primary

A few weeks ago Ella was asked to give the scripture in Primary! She was really excited. She did it in February and really was hesitant and I ended up saying it. Well we worked all week on it each night as we were getting ready for bed and by Sunday she had it memorized. She had Andrew get up with her and she remembered most of it! I was so proud of her! I was glad I had my phone with me that day to snap a picture of her sitting there!

Sleeping kids

I don't know what it is but I love when my kids are sleeping! They just are so peaceful and look huge! Andrew often finds me snuggled up with one of them late at night after they are asleep! I just love that special snuggle time and whispering in their ears that I love them! It is the one time they aren't moving or climbing all over me while trying to snuggle them!

This day I put him down for his nap and gave him his book. I went in about 10 minutes later and he had crashed book in hand and on his face!
Ella is touch and go with naps. I don't enforce them all that much. She is really good at playing dolls on her bed and some days she falls asleep and some days she just plays, sometimes for 2 hours! She is really good to play quietly by herself! This particular day after church she was playing on the floor and I looked down and she was out! She is the worst person to wake up from a nap, Andrew says she is just like me when I get woke up, ha ha! She is so grouchy and yells and cries and it usually lasts about 30 minutes! I tried waking her up in this picture and she just turned her head and she had carpet marks all over her face!

Random

These pictures are rather old, like over a month! I am so behind!

This is at the Disney Store at City Creek. We went down there I don't remember why now, there was a reason though! Ella and Easton love the short clips you can pick to watch!
We had a week in June where the kids were banned from TV, shows on Tablets, and movies in the car. They were really bad at a store one day and I had enough and took that privilege away for a week. It was rather nice to not have them watching it every morning but annoying to have to worry what they were doing while I showered! It had actually been 8 days when we went over to my sisters house and they were watching Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and they looked at me like is it going to be OK if we watch this! It was hilarious how excited they were! They sat and watched very intently!
Easton loves this tricycle! Poor kid only has about 8 feet to ride it on our balcony! Hopefully by next summer we will have somewhere to play that isn't so small! His smiling has gotten better for pictures!

Wheeler farm

We have had a lot of time with Andrew since he finished school. He is working now but we had a lot of days to kill time! One day we went and got sandwiches at Sprouts and then went and had a picnic at Wheeler farm! It was a nice day but there was quite a few school kids there. It was still fun and the kids enjoyed seeing the animals!

Grandma's House

A few Fridays ago we had a work party again at my Grandma's house. She was getting a new roof the next day. She has a flat roof and it had rocks on it so all the guys came together and helped get them off and clean it and get it ready. We fed them taco salad when they were done and the next day we went to help my Grandma some more with her house. The kids really wanted to run through the sprinklers or "sprinkles" as Ella calls them. We weren't able to so we promised the next week we would. Well the next week we went to help her clean her pantry out. She has a huge pantry and was having a problem with pantry moths. We washed everything and got rid of a lot of food in there! We enjoyed a lunch together at Granato's across the street and then worked for a few more hours. The kids took a rest and once they got up we had them play in the sprinklers! They were in heaven! We finished the night off at IceBerg Drive In for dinner. It would have been my Grandpa's 85th birthday that day so we figured it was a good way to honor him and to spend his day with my Grandma! Somehow the pictures got mixed up between days and I don't care!

Running through the sprinklers!
The kids had fun making a train with the lawn chairs! Easton was in heaven because of it all!
My grandma was wanting the guys to cut a big branch off her tree in the front but it was worrying her. Her neighborhood had dumpsters for the day and she wanted it done. A guy was going around asking if anyone needed anything done and she told him about the tree. He had it down and cleaned up in 20 minutes and only charged $20! It was perfect he knew what to do and had the right equipment, it was a huge blessing!

Pizza night

A few weeks ago we had a fun night making pizza together! We all love homemade Pizza and the kids love to help! We had our family night lesson while it baked! It tasted so good and we enjoyed a movie together as we ate it!

Work party

The first day of June was my Dad's birthday. My sisters and I decided for his birthday to make him breakfast and then help him and my mom put their garden in. It is hard to have such a big garden anymore and keep it up now that they only have one child left at home. We helped get all the weeds out and the guys went and got some compost and my dad tilled it in. We then helped put all the plants in and the guys put the cages over the tomatoes and the little kids got to help plant the corn! It was a perfect day and the kids played nicely together while we got it done. Now about 3 weeks later it is really looking good and everything is growing, even more weeds!
My sister got a new water table for her little boy and so they got that out and the kids had a blast with it while we worked! They also enjoyed Jack's new truck as well!
Katy got rollerblades the day before for her birthday and the kids loved being rolled around the house in them!
