Swimming in Kamas

A few times while we were at the cabin we went into town and swam at their pool. The first time I didn't have my suit so everyone helped watch my kids and they had so much fun! There was hardly anybody at the pool and it was nice to be able to keep an eye on my kids. The second time we went my cousin had brought my suit up with her and so I decided to swim. Well the YMCA had a summer camp there that day and it was crazy. There were kids everywhere and they were all really rude and I had a really hard time with all of them there. We didn't stay to long the second time but still enjoyed it!

Easton has a love connection with pools/water. He acts like he is just in love when he is in the water he enjoys it so much, which is great but scares me at the same time!

Fourth of July

We had a great 4th of July this year. Andrew's family was all up in Montana and we were sad we couldn't go but with only two weeks of work under his belt there was no way to ask for time off :). We had a really great day despite the heat! We started off with our ward breakfast and bike parade. It was nice to not have to make breakfast and the food was really good!
After we went and bought some fireworks and went and to the grocery store to get our food assignments for later. We went home and the kids napped and then we went to my Aunt and Uncles house. We had a Blackburn family reunion which is my Grandma's family so all of her siblings and families. It was a lot of fun and good to catch up with them. We usually get together twice a year and we have missed the last few get togethers. We enjoyed eating and the kids had a lot of fun playing.

Ella and Hannah! We are glad they have each other with all the boys around. They really wish Jocelyn lived closer, some day we hope!
My Aunt and cousins set up a lot of fun things for the kids to do, here they are doing a three legged race.
The boys playing games.
They put together this fun craft with paints and sponges where the kids made a picture of the flag. My kids really loved this and we came home with quite a few pictures!

They played a fun pass the wet sponge game, painted fingernails, my grandma and her sister played a fun game with the girls, and they had a fun parade for the kids with flags!

I just love this picture!
My cousins from the Gray family and my sisters (minus Sarah and Celyn).
These three are six weeks apart about and each have turned 16 this summer! Joseph was visiting his mom for the month from Atlanta!
We had some homemade ice cream and lots of cookies and brownies later in the day and then we eventually went to the school behind their house and did some parachutes and snaps. The kids loved those! When it got a little more dark we did some fireworks and Ella determined she hates little ones they are to scary but those big fireworks shows she loves! Go figure!

Swimming

We have loved having a neighborhood pool! When we bought this place almost 6 years ago we never thought it would ever happen after the builder went under shortly after we moved in. It only took about 4 1/2 years later but we finally got what we were promised! We have been so much this summer and it is nice to walk a block and enjoy it! The kids have really loved it and I really need to get them into some swim lessons. Easton is a little dare devil and honestly scares me to death most of the time. Ella is a little reserved but is slowly getting used to it. There is a nice kids pool that only goes up to 4 feet but has a nice 1 to 2 feet area for them to play. There is another pool for "big" people as Ella says and a hot tub the kids would love to spend half the time in, it is way to hot for that! We have enjoyed having people over to swim with us and anyone is welcome to come!

Easton loves to jump in and we usually have to hurry or he will jump in without us!

Pedicures

So to continue my mom's birthday celebrations the day before the 4th the girls went and got pedicures. We were sad my little sister Sarah didn't come but she was nice enough to watch the kids for us! It had been a few years since I had been and my feet were in horrible shape so they did their deluxe treatment on me and it was worth every penny! My feet felt so much better and still do! It was such a fun treat!

Since it was the 4th the next day I got red with blue and white polka dots, and white with blue and red dots! My sisters did stars and stripes and my mom got pink with yellow flowers!
This lotion felt so good and then she came and wrapped my legs in hot towels and it was amazing! It was fun and we keep talking about going back again!

Mom's birthday

For my mom's birthday we decided to celebrate for a few days! Her birthday was on a Sunday and so we made her dinner for her. We made some yummy grilled stuffed zucchini, had some delicious watermelon, green salad, and so on! It was really good. My Grandma made her a homemade German Chocolate cake. It was a perfect day and we enjoyed spoiling her! The next day, Monday morning we went over to my mom's house for brunch. We made sausage, french toast, buttermilk syrup, eggs, and juice. It was all so amazing and we were full the rest of the day! It was fun to continue our celebrations!
This is the one picture I got from the two days, the kids watched Daniel Tiger while we made breakfast!

Taylorsville Dayzz

We enjoyed being able to go to Taylorsville Dayzz again this year! It was the last week of June and we weren't sure if we wanted to go. It had been about 105 degrees all week and just miserable to be outside. We went the first night but we were only there for about 30 minutes before the fireworks. We had my sister in law Becky's Mother in law and sister in law in town from Korea and her niece and nephew. The kids had a lot of fun together and even though there was a language barrier they played really well and had fun!

Apparently it was dark and I had no idea my lense wasn't open the whole way!

Uncle Daniel bought all the kids all glow necklaces! It was so hot so of course we had to get our traditional snow cones! It really did help to cool us down!
The second night we went a couple hours before fireworks and enjoyed the concert and of course snow cones once again!
Just in case it wasn't hot enough they thought they would climb all over Andrew!
It was really fun to go both nights and the firework shows were amazing! It was a lot of fun and I was able to see a few friends from high school I hadn't seen in a few years since moving!
